November 5th, 2007 | 1,166 Views | 5 comments »

There seems to be no stopping this social-media craze that is going on around the Web. Many have thought that it was saturated with Digg, Stumbleupon, Facebook, etc and lots more other established sites. However just over the past 2 weeks, 2 new major projects were launched by the big boys with the name of Yahoo and Salesforce.

Dear Ask.com, Please Stop your Partnership with Google!

November 1st, 2007 | 883 Views | 0 comments »

It has been reported that Ask.com’s interest in renewing their ad contract seems to be waning. This is especially so after no new contract has been announced yet with the existing contract expiring in year’s end.

CNN made a very interesting report about Ask and Google’s relationship where they estimated that Ask barely makes 1% of Google’s total revenue. Thus it seems that Ask has a lot more to lose than Google if this contract was not renewed. As Google has gained a very significant lead over its other search engine competitors, Read more…

Novel Idea to Combine Blogging with Forums?

October 31st, 2007 | 3,242 Views | 0 comments »

There is a new blog ‘toy’ in town and it goes by the name Disqus, a brand-child of Y Combinator.

It is really quite a revolutionary concept and it basically involves combining blogging with forums. What Disqus does is to create a new forum for every blog registered. Then for every post that is created by the blog, a new thread is created forum-style. This will then allow visitors to comment and discuss on the blog post through the thread on Disqus. Tracking of the discussions carried can be easily performed via email notification to those who have posted. Read more…

Google Fiasco is a Sign of Things to Come

October 29th, 2007 | 1,230 Views | 0 comments »

If you are anywhere connected to the online world of business and webmasters, you will know that a historical event just took place in the realm of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), which basically involved Google reducing the Pagerank of many influential and popular websites. It is widely accepted that the reason for this ‘punishment’ is linked to the buy and sell of text-links designed to pass Pagerank. Read more…

We Made it to Top-100 Business Blogs List!

October 25th, 2007 | 1,077 Views | 5 comments »

Sorry to make two posts about Lifesperspective one after another, but I think this good news needs to be shared. Then again, think I won’t apologize and I think I deserve the right to brag a little considering the limited opportunities!

I am proud to announce that at least one other blogger (a UK business consultant ) has considered that Lifesperspective is worthy to be listed as one of the top 100 business blogs. His blog is businessopportunitiesandideas.co.uk and covers quite similar topics as Lifesperspective does. The complete list compiled by John Crickett can be found below and though Lifesperspective is not within the top 50, but at spot 73 (nicely bolded and enlarged for your easy tracking ;)), it is still nice to be recognized. Blog Status Update and How to Improve?

October 23rd, 2007 | 1,112 Views | 6 comments »

Perhaps it is time for another quick update on the growth of Lifesperspective and where we are now. I came across this informative, albeit discouraging post on how this blogger managed to get 1261 RSS Subcribers in less than 3 months. That was one of the main reasons which inspired me to do a stock-check on my blog and perhaps get some feedbacks from you guys as well.

Well, Jon shared some really good tips on how he managed to achieve such a tremendous result with his blog in such a short period of time. The best thing is the fact that these were his formula to success or so he claims and can be summarized as follows: Read more…
